Regulations for the Establishment of Branches and Agents
According to the changes that are taking place in the Cuban economy in
its international economic relationships, as well as the accumulated experience
and the international practice the Cuban legislation, through the Ordinance
206 of April, 1996, authorizes the establishment of office of mercantile
societies or foreign individual managers interested in maintaining a branch
in the country to assist their commercial relationships directly with
companies and Cuban organisms.
To such ends, for those entities or foreign individual managers that
want to have representation in the country, without arriving to the opening
of an own office, the possibility exists of made represented, previous
the grant of an agency contract, for a national entity legally authorized
to act as agent in our country.
The inscription in the National Registration of Branches and Agents of
Mercantile Foreign Societies, resided in the Chamber of Commerce of Cuba,
is indispensable requirement to establish an office in the Republic of
Cuba, and the document that credits such an authorization it is the license
sent by this Registration.
Exports and Import Régime
Cuba doesn't apply any régime of export license or import, regulations
or contingents that can block the foreign trade.
The effective regulations are related with the preservation of the national
patrimony and the prohibitions on drugs and narcotics, as well as the
sanitary ones and other relative ones to the preservation of the environment,
the protection of threatened species, the transporter movements of wastes
and other dangerous materials. |
