To take the integral development of the tourism ahead in Cuba, the Ministry of Tourism has structured a system formed by hotel and extra-hotel entities, as well as others of autonomous and independent character that assume supporting functions to the rest.

Hotels

• Cubanacán S.A.: This society is the leader group in the Cuban tourist activity, so much in hotel operations as in extra-hotel ones, as well as in other business inside the sector, as well as for the volume of its investments and for the administration contracts and commercialization of facilities, fundamentally of four and five stars.
• Gran Caribe: Anonymous society with juridical personality and own patrimony. It administers and markets own facilities or of third, under different modalities and marks. It develops the activity of events, congresses and incentives, as well as gastronomic, commercial and recreational services in its hotels and extra-hotel centers, as the Tropicana cabaret and the restaurants Floridita and La Bodeguita del Medio.
• Horizontes: It offers and gives to the foreign visitor’s services dedicated to the recovery of their health and rehabilitation in the physical and psychic order, as well as services of miner-medicinal and thermal waters, as well as others under different modalities and categories.
• Gaviota: This group of tourism has among its objectives the promotion and sale of hotel and tourist services, as well as its specializations in health, nautical, fish, diving and other modalities.
• Islazul: This chain is dedicated preferably to the national tourism.
• Habaguanex: This company has the function of exploiting, to negotiate and to administer all type of industries and hotel and extra-hotels facilities as well as the activities dedicated to the tourism in the Historical Center of Old Havana.
• Comunidad Las Terrazas: Rural experience of sustainable development, with a view to the exploitation and commercialization of services for the mountain and ecological tourism. It is in the Sierra del Rosario (Pinal del Rio), area declared by the UNESCO like the first Reservation of the Biosphere in Cuba.
• Managerial Group Popular Camping: Dedicated to the camping and eco-tourism.

Extra-hotels

• Rumbos: Its social object is to satisfy leisure necessities and the tourists' recreation in extra-hotels centers, by means of offers of activities and varied entertainment.
• Cubatur: This agency is in charge of the professional organization of tourists' trips to Cuba or other destinations. It also carries out receptive services and of tour-operators.
• Transtur: It offers services of transport to the international tourism in busses, minibuses, car rental, taxis, other cars and any other means of transportation.
• Turarte: It is the one in charge of the shows of different formats for cabarets and other facilities of the tourism.
• Caracol: It operates and it develops a net of stores of all type for the international tourism.

With the purpose that all Cuba is a tourist destination of first order, to give to the development of the sector in the country integrality and to offer the visitor differential options that increase our competitiveness and the possibility of knowing the whole archipelago, several regions exists, all with its own image, in function of the markets and segments that love to be captured.

The regions of prioritized tourist development are:

• La Habana: Center of the political, economic, cultural and social life of the country. Here it is the Historical Center of Old Havana, declared Patrimony of the Humanity for the UNESCO.
• Varadero: Main spa of the country and considered its tourist capital. Very close is the Great Park Peninsula of Zapata.
• Jardines del Rey (Gardens of the King): The most promising in the Cuban tourist destinations extend in the north from Caibarién (Villa Clara) until Camagüey. In it, Santa María, Coco and Guillermo keys are included.
• North of Camagüey: It is the Santa Lucia Beach.
• North Coast of Holguín: It counts with beautiful Guardalavaca, Esmeralda and Pescador beaches.
• Santiago de Cuba: Historical and hospital city, full with traditions, where it is the Baconao Park.
• Central South Coast: It is defined for the destinations Cienfuegos and Trinidad, city been founded in 1515, declared Patrimony of the Humanity.
• The Canarreos: Here it figures Cayo Largo del Sur, the only island of Everything Included of the world.
